Steward's Report

Brazen Beauty was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Teeny Spida was slow to begin. Peppermint Twist, Carlanna Sharna and Zenome Bale collided soon after the start, checking Zenome Bale, which collided with Baroness Jill. Teeny Spida checked off Evelisa soon after the start. Baroness Jill, Teeny Spida, Brazen Beauty and Evelisa collided approaching the first turn, checking Evelisa; and causing Zenome Bale to fall. Peppermint Twist and Carlanna Sharna collided entering the home straight. Baroness Jill eased approaching the winning post.

Zenome Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right shoulder, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Matthyssen the trainer of the greyhound Baroness Jill regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Baroness Jill was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left shoulder, a five day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Baroness Jill with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. R Matthyssen pleaded not guilty to the charge, Baroness Jill was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.
