Mar Wah and Crosscheck were quick to begin. Phil Mieski, Napalm Red, Zipping Electra and Jake's A Devil collided soon after the start checking Napalm Red. Twentyfour Carat was checked off Phil Mieski approaching the first turn. Zipping Electra and Jake's A Devil collided approaching the home turn checking Twentyfour Carat. Phil Mieski and Zipping Electra collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Phil Mieski and Zipping Electra collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds, Zipping Electra raced wide as a result. Twentyfour Carat raced wide on the home turn. Twentyfour Carat, Crosscheck, Napalm Red and Jake's A Devil raced wide in the home straight.

Prior to the running of all events today Stewards advised the handlers and a number of catchers not to enter the race track at any time until instructed to do so by an official.
Satisfactory Weight Trial (solo) - Aqua Morgan trialled over the 400 metres from box 3, weight 31.3kg. The time of the trial was 23.02secs, Aqua Morgan was cleared.
