Steward's Report
Frankie Drake was quick to begin. Sight To Explore was slow to begin.
High Cotton visibly eased approaching the home turn and again in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right carpal sprain and a right thigh muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Armstrong regarding High Cotton’s racing manners approaching the home turn and in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, High Cotton was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Armstrong pleaded guilty to the charge. High Cotton must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post–race sample was taken from Expect Magic – the winner of the event.
