Due to operational matters this event was delayed by approximately 1.5 minutes.
A pre-race sample was taken from Superior Shirley.
Firebird Icon was quick to begin.
Crackerjack Phil stumbled at box rise, faltered and subsequently tailed off, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 10. Crackerjack Phil was found to have a left hock sprain. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Shane Jackson regarding Crackerjack Phil’s overall performance in this event. After hearing submissions from Mr. Jackson, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Crackerjack Phil unsatisfactory. Crackerjack Phil must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
