Stewards spoke to Mr. Mason Koffman, the handler of Malo Magic, regarding the greyhound initially being placed in the incorrect starting box before being relocated into the correct starting box. Acting under GAR 156(f), the Stewards charged Mr. Koffman for negligence. Mr. Koffman pleaded to the charge. A fine of $100 was imposed.

A post–race sample was taken from Phantom Rex – the winner of the event. 

Maximum, Blue Chaser and Our Last Hope were slow to begin. 

Phelan Seedy – Late scratching at 11:00AM due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. Mark Giddings informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. Stewards advised Mr Giddings that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 72 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival. The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence.

Aston Sadio and Storm Key were slow to begin.

A post–race sample was taken from Deadly Class – the winner of the event. 

Supplementary Report – 13/09/23: The 28 day stand down was removed from Phelan Seedy after Mr. Giddings provided Stewards with sufficient evidence of the vehicle breakdown.

Braemar Audrey was quick to begin.

Never Sweet contacted the running rail, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left hind fibula and left hip. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Internal Affairs and Dr. Spokes were slow to begin.

Jack's Regret and Redshift Victory were slow to begin.

Arcana turned it's head outwards entering the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 12. Arcana was found to have a right foreleg wrist injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. Jodie Leek regarding Arcana’s racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Arcana was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Leek pleaded guilty to the charge. Arcana must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted. 

In accordance with LR 40.2, Mr. Ben Joske was issued with a warning regarding non–compliance with the GRV Dress Standards.

Daintree Damage and Panama Dash were slow to begin.

An out of competition sample was taken from Twelve Carat on 6/8/2023 pursuant to GAR 139.

Sinful Sid – Late scratching at 11:32AM on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to a right back muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Avon Swan was slow to begin.

Avon Swan was severely checked and fell on the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have multiple lacerations and abrasions to both front feet and right hind leg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Twelve Carat was severely checked on the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left front triceps injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

An out of competition sample was taken from Zylon Bale on 30/8/2023 pursuant to GAR 139.

Zylon Bale and Jerwood Bale – Late scratching's at 11:01AM due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed on both greyhounds. Trainer Mr. Mark Giddings informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. Stewards advised Mr Giddings that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 72 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival. Lakeview Dozer underwent a post–race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have split webbing on the left hind leg. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
