Steward's Report
A pre–race sample was taken from Tarp Welder.
Lindenow Grace was slow to begin.
Tarp Welder underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hind foot spike wound injury. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Anthony Clarke-bruce regarding the greyhound pulling up prior to the return gate and failing to enter the catching pen. Stewards noted that Tarp Welder had failed to enter the catching pen at Traralgon on 8/02/2023 and was issued with a warning on that occasion.Acting in accordance with GAR 129, and being mindful of the safety of Tarp Welder, other greyhounds in the race, staff, and participants, Stewards were not satisfied with the performance. Tarp welder was placed on a Satisfactory Trial under GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, with the condition that the greyhound must run past the return gate in order to clear the Satisfactory Trial, before any further nominations are accepted.
