Steward's Report
Just A Jester – New declared weight of 31.9kg, last raced at 30.8kg.
A pre–race sample was taken from Gerry's Gift.
Sumerian and Gerry's Gift were quick to begin. Shima Bolt was slow to begin.
Opal Key lost ground in the back straight and subsequently tailed off. Opal Key underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race race 9. Opal Key was found to have a right carpal sprain. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. Corey Fulford regarding Opal Key's performance. After hearing submissions from Mr. Fulford, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Opal Key unsatisfactory. Opal Key must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Strewards spoke to the return gate attendant and reminded them of their responsibilities. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration and remediation.
