Steward's Report
Mikado Eclipse and Kempton Bale were slow to begin.
Regal Rhode (turned its head at the 50m mark) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer, Mr Matthew Marshall declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr Marshall regarding the greyhound's racing manners at the 50m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Regal Rhode was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Marshall pleaded guilty to the charge. Regal Rhode was suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mikado Eclipse (faltered soon after the start and subsequently tailed off) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left calf and left quadriceps muscles. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Son Of Cindy - the winner of the event.
