Pursuant to GAR 75(7), Steward Ms. D. Barber did not act in any official capacity for this event.
Bonnieville Icon and Ripped Mikado were slow to begin.
Slander turned its head to the inside and visibly eased approaching the winning post and turned its head to the outside and visibly eased at the 150m mark. Slander underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hind metatarsals. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Darren Petersen regarding Slander’s racing manners soon after the start and at the 150m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Slander was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Petersen pleaded guilty to the charge. Slander must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
