Steward's Report
Split Reef was quick to begin. Ablett Flyer and Hot Summer Sky were slow to begin. Ablett Flyer, Mcivor Olly and Split Reef raced wide on the home turn.
Mcivor Olly (visibly eased and turned head outwards on the home turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have right wrist injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr B.Priest regarding Mcivor Olly’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Mcivor Olly was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Priest pleaded guilty to the charge. Mcivor Olly was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Split Reef (lost ground approaching the home turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a injury to the left radius. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr M.Meyer regarding the racing manners of Split Reef on the home turn. After hearing submissions from Mr Meyer, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.
Hot Summer Sky (stumbled approaching the home turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left trapezius injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
