Weeona Star was quick to begin. Crafty Beer was slow to begin.
Stewards spoke to Mr. David McKenzie regarding the racing manners of Bowled Joel in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. McKenzie and without the support of head on footage, Stewards took no further action.
Gridlocked underwent a post–race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have a skin pad laceration. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Gone For Good underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a thraco-lumbar injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. Kaylah Thorburn regarding Gone For Good’s racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Gone For Good was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Thornburn pleaded guilty to the charge. Gone For Good was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
