Steward's Report
Sure Oliver and Dark Lightning were quick to begin. Varsity Bale and Artisan Artist were slow to begin.
Sure Oliver raced wide in the home straight.
Varsity Bale (marred Sure Oliver approaching the winning post) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Kennel Representative Mr. Correy Grenfell regarding Varsity Bale's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Varsity Bale was charged with marring. Mr. Grenfell pleaded guilty to the charge. Varsity Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
