Steward's Report
Primo Tonic, Star Stay and My Mum Rocks were slow to begin.
Joe The Goose (visibly eased turning out of the front straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Mr. Colin Dalton declined the option to have the greyhound re–examined. Stewards spoke to Mr. Dalton regarding Joe The Goose's racing manners turning out of the front straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Joe The Goose was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Dalton pleaded guilty to the charge. Joe The Goose was suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Evie Wonder underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hind spike wound. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Lee Lansdown regarding the racing manners of Evie Wonder turning out of the front straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Lansdown, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.
A post-race sample was taken from Star Stay - the winner of the event.
