Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Long Time Gone on 26/7/2023 pursuant to GAR 139.
A pre–race sample was taken from Quota Bale.
Miss Daicos was quick to begin.
Mr Phillip Repici failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Cersei's Boy for racing. A warning was issued pursuant to GAR 97(2).
Tantangara Girl, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg and right hindleg toe injury. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Rosalie Kerr regarding the racing manners of Tantangara Girl in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Ms Kerr, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.
Long Time Gone underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Leon Lacy regarding Long Time Gone’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Long Time Gone was charged with marring. Mr Lacy pled guilty to the charge, Long Time Gone was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race blood and urine sample was taken from Ohana Love - placed 4th in the event.
