A sample was taken from Aston Sundance upon arrival at the course.
A pre-race sample was taken from Hillbilly Joker.
Whisky Nip and Aston Sundance were quick to begin. Mepunga Echo was slow to begin.
Whisky Nip was galloped on and fell on the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasions to the right hock, left stifle, right metatarsal and below the eyes. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
King Pop was severely checked and fell on the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the thoraco-lumbar and left wrist. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
