Steward's Report
Ms Kaylah Thorburn requested an early race endorsement for Prophet. The Stewards approved the request after an examination prior to racing by the on–track veterinarian. Prophet will compete in early races until further notice.
The start was delayed by approximately one minute due to operational activities.
Maxi Mal was slow to begin.
Seriously Fly visibly eased approaching the winning post, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hind spike wound, right long head triceps muscle injury and right triangle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Cameron Taylor regarding Seriously Fly’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Seriously Fly was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Taylor pled guilty to the charge, Seriously Fly was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Meeting comments:
Stewards issued a warning pursuant to GAR 81(1) to Mr. James Vandemaat, after a trial greyhound escaped the handler in the vicinity of the car park prior to the running of race 5.
