Steward's Report
Torpedo Johnny was quick to begin. Dream On Allan was slow to begin.
Piper's Brook ( turned its head outwards soon after the start ) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a flexor tendon injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Leslie Hughes regarding Piper's Brook’s racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Piper's Brook was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Hughes pleaded guilty to the charge. Piper's Brook was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Post-race hair and blood samples were taken from Blazing Lady - the winner of the event.
