Steward's Report
Aston Jacinta, Buddy Blue and Mrs. Eshay were slow to begin.
A post–race sample was taken from Flying Ryker – the winner of the event.
Grace Gem faltered approaching the first turn and lost ground, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right monkey muscle, right shin and both back muscles. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mrs L. Russell regarding the performance of Grace Gem, taking into consideration the injury sustained and the injuries sustained from Grace Gem's previous starts; Stewards ordered that a veterinary certificate of clearance is produced, to the satisfaction of the Stewards before the greyhound is eligible to compete in an event, pursuant to GAR 129(b).
Aston Dallas marred Aston Jacinta in the home straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Mark Giddings regarding Aston Dallas’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Aston Dallas was charged with marring. Mr. Giddings pleaded guilty to the charge. Aston Dallas was suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
