Steward's Report
Hunter's Choice – New declared weight of 25.7 kg, last raced at 26.8 kg.
A pre–race sample was taken from Johari.
It was noted that the muzzle of Johari became caught on the rug of Hunter's Choice during the running of the event.
Soda Dobby was galloped on by Be Rugged approaching the home turn and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Johari underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Damian Meade regarding Johari’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Johari was charged with marring. Mr Meade pled guilty to the charge and suspended for three months at all tracks and must perform two Satisfactory Trials in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
The announcement of the All Clear was delayed for the Stewards to review the race footage soon after the start. After viewing the footage and acting on their own observations, the Stewards were comfortably satisfied that no greyhounds were materially affected, so as to effect the outcome of the event. The All Clear was posted.
A post-race sample was taken from Mashle Wave - the winner of the event.
