Steward's Report
Raccoon Ruby was quick to begin. Aeroplane Star was slow to begin.
Raccoon Ruby (severely checked in the home straight and lost ground), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left thigh muscle injury and a right triangle muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Aeroplane Star (turned it's head inwards and marred Raccoon Ruby in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to kennel representative, Mr Taylor Thornton regarding Aeroplane Star’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Aeroplane Star was charged with marring. Mr Thornton pled guilty to the charge, Aeroplane Star was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post–race sample was taken from Aeroplane Star – the winner of the event.
