Steward's Report
My Mate Martha and Lily Luna Potter were quick to begin.
Lily Luna Potter visibly eased approaching the winning post, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Kennel Representative Mr. Ian Cockerell declined the option to have the greyhound re–examined. Stewards spoke to Mr. Cockerell regarding Lily Luna Potter’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Lily Luna Potter was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Cockerell pleaded not guilty to the charge. Lily Luna Potter was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat, and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Kennel Representative Ms. Claire Allen regarding Rapidfire Serena's racing manners turning out of the back straight. Ms. Allen advised Stewards that the greyhound has a propensity to race wide and that, in her opinion, the greyhound was attempting to shift to the outside. Stewards accepted Ms. Allen's explanation for Rapidfire Serena's racing manners and noted that the greyhound proceeded to race wide in the home straight.
Stewards spoke via telephone to Mr. Patrick Furci, the trainer of Scott Monster, after they left the course today without the permission of Stewards and without having the greyhound examined by the On-Track Veterinarian following the event. Mr. Furci was issued with a warning pursuant to GAR 94(2), and directed to produce Scott Monster at The Meadows for a veterinary examination on Saturday, 29 April 2023.

Trainer Mr. Patrick Furci presented the greyhound Scott Monster to Stewards, as requested, at The Meadows race meeting on 29 April 2023. The greyhound underwent an examination by the On-Track Veterinarian and was found to have no apparent injury.
