Steward's Report
Molly Cruiser was quick to begin. Grumpy Sailor was slow to begin.
Molly Cruiser turned its head outwards in the home straight and collided with Lightning Pest. Molly Cruiser underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mrs Joy McDowall regarding Molly Cruiser's racing manners in the home straight. Mrs McDowall declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Molly Cruiser was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs McDowall pleaded guilty to the charge, Molly Cruiser was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must performam a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Lightning Pest eased entering the home straight and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Mathew Wright regarding Lightning Pest's racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Lightning Pest was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Wright pleaded guilty to the charge, Lightning Pest was found guilty and suspended for 28 at days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post–race sample was taken from Rebel's Spark – third placed in the event.
