Steward's Report
Clumsy Tank and Valeria Bale were slow to begin and collided soon after the start. McAvaney, Llewy's Lad and Valeria Bale collided on the first turn checking Llewy's Lad and Valeria Bale. McAvaney and Piffin'Yonnies collided on the third turn checking McAvaney. Bekim Goddess and Clumsy Tank collided approaching the home turn. Llewy's Lad and Clumsy Tank collided on the home turn and again approaching the winning post checking Llewy's Lad and Valeria Bale. McAvaney tailed off in the home straight.
McAvaney was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle and right thigh, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Mr. Lithgow declined his option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Sean Lithgow the trainer of the greyhound McAvaney. Stewards deemed the performance of McAvaney unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71 Stewards directed that McAvaney must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks before any future nomination will be acceped.
