Elva Grace was quick to begin. My Girl Abby was slow to begin.
Elva Grace (severely checked on the first turn and lost ground) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to left hind toe. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Neverland King (eased in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was revetted following Race 7,.found to have a lumbo sacral and right triangle muscle injuries. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Melanie Lithgow regarding Neverland King’s racing manners in the home straight.. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Neverland King was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Melanie Lithgow pled guilty to the charge, Neverland King was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
