Steward's Report
A pre–race sample was taken from Cruising Through.
Acting in accordance with the GRV Lightning and Thunderstorm Safety Procedure, racing was suspended at 17:05 as the greyhounds were arriving at the starting boxes due to continuous lightning strikes within the designated safety zone around the Sale Greyhound Racing club. Due to safety concerns the meeting was delayed by 42 minutes and races re–scheduled accordingly.
The start of this event was rescheduled to 17:49.
All handlers were given the option to withdraw their greyhound from the event pursuant to GAR19(4)(b), Stewards Non-Penalty, in the best interest of the greyhound and greyhound racing. All handlers were also given the option to give their greyhound a small drink of water prior to the running of the event.
All Greyhounds underwent a veterinary examination behind the starting boxes prior to racing and were passed fit to race.
Indiana Phones and Cruising Through were slow to begin.
