Steward's Report
Jerome, Silly Mid Off and Laceby Girl were slow to begin.
Jerome turned it's head outwards and collided with My Isabelle in the home straight and underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wound. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Peter Frost regarding Jerome’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Jerome was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Frost pleaded not guilty to the charge, Jerome was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Silly Mid Off turned it's head inwards and collided with Impassioned approaching the winning post and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Mr Ronald Dunne declined the option to have the greyhound re–vetted.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr R.Dunne regarding Silly Mid Off’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Silly Mid Off was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Dunne pleaded guilty to the charge, Silly Mid Off was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial/s in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Bok Choy - the winner of the event.
