Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. Danny Macdonald, the trainer of Knuckles Galore regarding the greyhound not being presented for racing with the correct racing gear. Mr. Macdonald was issued with a warning, pursuant to GAR 156(f)(ii), for failing to ensure Knuckles Galore was wearing the approved required race gear, being a buckle lead, which in the opinion of the Stewards was negligent.
Ximena Bale was quick to begin. East On Henry was slow to begin.
Lakeview Lana faltered entering the back straight and subsequently tailed off and underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left tendon injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Ximena Bale Visibly eased and turned its head outwards in the home straight and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Ms. Deborah Coleman regarding Ximena Bale’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Ximena Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Coleman declined to option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Ms. Coleman pled guilty to the charge, Ximena Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
