Roxy Doughnut – New declared weight of 26.7kgs, last raced at 28.1kgs at Ballarat on 22 April, 2022.
Summer Season and Shanlyn Rover were quick to begin.
Shanlyn Rover visibly eased and turned its head outwards approaching the first turn and visibly eased in the home straight.
Shanlyn Rover underwent a post–race veterinary examination and it was reported the greyhound sustained an injury to the right long head tricep muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. Olivia Cartechini regarding Shanlyn Rover's racing manners approaching the first turn and again in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Shanlyn Rover was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Cartechini pled guilty to the charge, Shanlyn Rover was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Fentons Rise, third placegetter.
