Steward's Report
A sample was taken from Drill Sergeant upon arrival at the course.
Speed Line Sally, Sir Nathan and Orson Fury were slow to begin.
Drill Sergeant underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right calf. A 0 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Tony Cortese regarding the racing manners of Drill Sergeant entering the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Cortese and viewing the available race footage, Stewards were of the view that rounding the home turn, Fernando Gomez had its heels contacted by Mission Apollo and began to shifted outwards. On entering the home straight, Drill Sergeant attempted to shift to the inside of Fernando Gomez, resulting in both greyhounds being checked.
