Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Why Not Emily.
Dr. Yasmine was quick to begin, Redshift Victory was slow to begin.
Dr. Yasmine shifted out in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right long head triceps muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Judith Mcmahon regarding the racing manners of Dr. Yasmine in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Ms Mcmahon, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.
Indestruct visibly eased and turned its head outwards in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an right foreleg abraded paw pad. A 0 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Kerry Minne regarding Indestruct’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Indestruct was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Minne pled not guilty to the charge, Indestruct was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
