Zipping Basilisk and Our Girl Rocks were slow to begin.
Mepunga Loaf failed to pursue the lure when rounding the turn off the back straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions on both hindlegs. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.Stewards spoke to Mr Harrison Goss regarding the greyhound’s racing manners turning off the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Mepunga Loaf was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Goss pleaded not guilty to the charge. Mepunga Loaf was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
