Steward's Report
Zip Up Quick and Modest were quick to begin. Edge Of Darkness and Absolute Flyer were slow to begin.
Zip Up Quick turned it's head outwards and visably eased in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury and a left sesamoid injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to representative, Mr Josh Duncan regarding Zip Up Quick’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Zip Up Quick was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Duncan pled not guilty to the charge, Zip Up Quick was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
