Kanji Seattle was quick to begin.
Lala Rapid was slow to begin.
Kanji Seattle underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr B Keel regarding Kanji Seattle's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Kanji Seattle was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr B Keel pled guilty to the charge, Kanji Seattle was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted. Stewards also spoke to kennel representative Mr. B Keel, regarding the greyhound pulling up prior to the return gate and failing to enter the catching pen. After viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued under GAR 129.
