Steward's Report
Queen Goldstein was slow to begin.
Jacket Potato underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. C. Brennan regarding Jacket Potato’s racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Jacket Potato was charged with marring. Mr. C. Brennan pled guilty to the charge, Jacket Potato was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
City Nights underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. D. Kee regarding City Nights' racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 City Nights was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. D. Kee reserved his plea to the charge, City Nights was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
