Steward's Report
A pre–race sample was taken from Crymelon Vixen.
Daisy Giblet, Lenny Coaster, Bang On Blue, Rushworth and Jayville Flynn were slow to begin.
Crymelon Vixen (severely checked approaching the winning post) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Rushworth (turned its head outwards and collided with Crymelon Vixen) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race four. Rushworth was found to have a neck injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr C.Elliott regarding Rushworth’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Rushworth was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Elliott pleaded guilty to the charge, Rushworth was found guilty and suspended for 28 at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
