Aubameyang was quick to begin. Elmo Rose was slow to begin.
Elmo Rose faltered and tailed off turning into the home straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
A post–race sample was taken from Typhoon Sammy – the winner of the event.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track turning into the home straight and deemed it suitable for racing.
