Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Life's Good on 26/9/2022 pursuant to GAR 139.
Runnin' Riot, Bluenose Best and Electra Glide were slow to begin.
General Payton visibly eased in the home straight and turned its head to the outside. General Payton underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following event 12. General Payton was found to have a left hamstring injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Reginald Marriner regarding General Payton's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, General Payton was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Marriner pled guilty to the charge, General Payton was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Electra Glide visibly eased approaching the winning post. Electra Glide underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following event 12. Electra Glide was found to have a right biceps injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ronald McCullagh regarding Electra Glide's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Electra Glide was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr McCullagh pled not guilty to the charge, Electra Glide was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
