Steward's Report
Crymelon Libby was quick to begin.
Tiggerlong Shine underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Ms Briana Robertson-leech regarding the greyhound pulling up prior to the return gate and failing to enter the catching pen. Stewards noted that Tiggerlong Shine had failed to enter the catching pen at Geelong on 14 September 2022 and was issued with a warning on that occasion. Acting in accordance with GAR 129 and being mindful of the safety of Tiggerlong Shine, other greyhounds in the race, staff and participants, Stewards were not satisfied with the performance and placed Tiggerlong Shine on a satisfactory trial under GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, with the condition that Tiggerlong Shine must run past the return gate in order to pass the satisfactory trial, before future nominations will be accepted.
A post–race sample was taken from Canya Liston – the winner of the event.
