Steward's Report

Bold Design and Shankhill Shandi were quick to begin.

Bold Design visibly eased approaching the home turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right fore metacarpal region. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Gary Sciortino regarding Bold Design’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Bold Design was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Sciortino pled guilty to the charge, Bold Design was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Hurricane Tahlia fell approaching the home turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Valencia Ted turned its head and visibly eased on the home turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following event 3. Valencia Ted was found to have a cervico-thoracic injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Jennifer Gieschen regarding Valencia Ted’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Valencia Ted was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Gieschen pled guilty to the charge, Valencia Ted was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
