Steward's Report
My Name's Fergie – Late scratching at 6.51am when Mr. Daniel Boots reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Palmistry – Late scratching at 7.33am due to the greyhound being on season [GAR 76 or 77]. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
A sample was taken from Speedy Villian upon arrival at the course.
Racing was indefinitely delayed at 12:00pm due to persistent heavy rain in the area causing the creation of several areas of erosion and flooding to the track. Track maintenance staff could not rectify the issue. Stewards declared the track unsatisfactory for racing and subsequently abandoned races 6-12 at 1:00pm, pursuant to GAR 110 (4). All bets on greyhounds in the abandoned races are to be refunded. The weights recorded for the greyhounds in the abandoned races are void and do not count for the purposes of the weight rule at the greyhounds’ next start. Prizemoney to be split evenly between the competing greyhounds, at the time of abandonment.
