Steward's Report

An out of competition sample was taken from Texicali Velvet on 12 January 2023 pursuant to GAR 139.

Ria – Late scratching at 8:58am due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). Mr McDonald informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. Stewards were satisfied with the evidence of the breakdown provided by Mr McDonald, as such no penalties were applied.

Hot Diamond – Late scratching at 8.28am due to weight variation (GAR 101). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr G Hammerstein was fined $100.   Stewards also spoke to Mr. Hammerstein regarding the manner in which he contacted the weigh-in scale and advised that any future occurrence will incur a fine.

Lethal Vision marred Maxi Mal at the 200m mark, underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Bernie Ender regarding Lethal Vision’s racing manners at the 200m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Lethal Vision was charged with marring. Mr Ender pled guilty to the charge, Lethal Vision was found guilty and suspended for three months at all tracks and must perform two Satisfactory Trials in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Bruree Man visibly eased and turned its head to the inside at the 100m mark, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined at 1:32pm. Bruree Man was found to have a left triangle muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Edmund Dollery regarding Bruree Man’s racing manners at the 100m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125 (by reason of injury). Mr Dollery pled guilty to the charge, Bruree Man was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
