In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 24.1 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.5 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Pursuant to the GRV Hot Weather Policy, the Stewards dispensed with two requirements prior to Race 1 meaning greyhounds were no longer required to remain on course for the specified time and that the parading of greyhounds was to occur, as the outside temperature had decreased to a reasonable level.

The Stewards were advised that the outside track was medium harrowed on 16th of Feburary 2023.

Aussie Bronze, Aussie Karen and Lara Long Legs were quick to begin. Regal Raj was slow to begin.

Lady Sharp and Redshift Whiskey were quick to begin. Revesby Bale was slow to begin.

Lady Sharp underwent a post-race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

A post–race sample was taken from Aldren Bale – the winner of the event. 

Slingshot Flare and She's The Grouse were quick to begin. Carry On JIll and Boots were slow to begin.

Stewards issued a warning pursuant to GAR 81(1) to Mr. Barry Reid, after the greyhound Rushmore Red momentarily escaped the handler in the stir up yard prior to the running of this race.

A pre–race sample was taken from Yarrell Bale. 

Kanji Uganda and Yarrell Bale were slow to begin.

Dark Nautilus (performed below market expectation) - underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Crackerjack Boom – Late scratching at 8:46am with Stewards permission due to a technical issue with Fasttrack. 

Yaala Express – Late scratching at 3:05pm when Trainer Mr Jason Wickham reported the greyhound to have lameness (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.

Osprey Warrior was quick to begin.

Orbital Bale was checked and subsequently lost ground entering the first turn and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

Gomez Bale and Stealth were quick to begin. El Cazador began awkwardly and lost ground.

Blackpool May was quick to begin. Nicolson Bale was slow to begin.

A pre–race sample was taken from Solace. 

Kanji Exiled and Astro Boy were quick to begin. Ricky Bobby Riot and Elite Jet were slow to begin.

Ricky Bobby Riot competed in the event with a dislodged muzzle.

Tracey Deglaitis was issued with a warning pursuant to GAR 97(1) in that the incorrect race rug was placed on Snowy's Sister.

Rose Forbes was issued with a warning pursuant to GAR 97(1) in that the incorrect race rug was placed on Forbes Delight.

Zippy Artist was slow to begin.

You Yang Yaala (checked turning off the back straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

Zippy Artist (hit the running rail turning off the back straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound on both hind feet. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
