After hearing submissions from Mr. Joske, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.

Stewards spoke to Mr Tony Interligi regarding the racing manners of Inter Barty at the 100m. After hearing submissions from Mr. Interligi, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.

Melanistic was slow to begin.

Melanistic faltered approaching the 150m mark and tailed off. Melanistic underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to both back muscles. A 90 day stand down period was imposed. 

A post-race sample was taken from Bruree Man - unplaced in the event.

Mr. Blitz turned its head to the outside at the 100m mark and collided with Super Sparkle and Unroadworthy. Mr. Blitz underwent a post-race veterinary exmaination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke Mr Wade Green regarding Mr. Blitz’s racing manners at the 100m mark. Mr. Green declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Mr. Blitz was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Green pled not guilty to the charge, Mr. Blitz was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr Jayden Cassar was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound, Hot Diesel pursuant to GAR 88.

Colossal Fire was slow to begin. 

Hot Diesel lost ground over the concluding stages of the event, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left quadriceps injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Ready For Sea – Late scratching at 1:27pm, due to the greyhound not being retrieved from the kennel by the appointed time, pursuant to GAR 97(3)(a).

Stewards opened an inquiry with Ms Constance McMillan, the Trainer of Ready For Sea regarding the circumstances surrounding the late scratching. Ms McMillan was charged with negligence in that she failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve Ready For Sea for racing, in accordance with GAR 156(f)(ii). Ms McMillan pled guilty to the charge and was fined $250.

Mrs Margaret Campbell was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound, Zambora's Girl pursuant to GAR 88.

Stewards interviewed Mr Michael Davison, the trainer of Texicali Velvet in relation to the bona fides of the withdrawal from this race.

Animal Kingdom underwent a veterinary examination prior to racing and was passed fit to race. This event was delayed by approximately 4 minutes as a result. 

Little Miss Mini was quick to begin. He Man and Jimmy The Bear were slow to begin.

Little Miss Mini underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of the trainer and was found to have a left flexor tendon injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed. 

Darley Lass lost ground over the concluding stages, underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Jimmy The Judge – Late scratching at 7:40am when Mr Jason Hardy reported the greyhound to have an illness (diarrhoea) (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
