At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 34 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.7 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy

Rocky Chana was quick to begin. Mt.View Chance was slow to begin.
Mt.View Chance stumbled soon after the start and tailed off, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have left foreleg triceps injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Kylie Turban was galloped on in the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg long head triceps injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
