Steward's Report
Curly Fries underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hindleg foot. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Peter Byrne regarding Curly Fries pulling up prior to the return gate and failing to enter the catching pen. Acting in accordance with GAR 129 and being mindful of the safety of Curly Fries, other greyhounds in the race and staff that triage these types of incidents, the Stewards were not satisfied with the performance and placed Curly Fries on a satisfactory trial under GAR 129, and in accordance with GAR 132, with the condition that Curly Fries needs to run past the return gate in order to pass the satisfactory trial.
A post–race sample was taken from Run Machine – the winner of the event.
