Steward's Report
Shadow Jumper – The frequency of racing was discussed with Mr Jason Formosa, the comments were noted.
Shadow Jumper underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Uriana Bale. eased and pulled up approaching the winning post underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 11. Uriana Bale was found to have a cervico-thoracic injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mrs Catherine Roberts regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Uriana Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs Roberts pleaded guilty to the charge, Uriana Bale was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Uriana Bale failed to cross the finish line, turned around and galloped back to the start. A warning was issued against the greyhound for not running past the return gate. Trainer Mrs Roberts was advised that a repetition of this would result in the greyhound being stood down until the completion of a catching pen trial.
