Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 75(6) Starter Mr. S. Boag did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event.
A pre-race sample was taken from Smiling Sapphire.
Double Top was quick to begin. Rustic Bling, Roxy Doughnut and Shania's Gift were slow to begin.
Shania's Gift, checked on the first turn, losing significant ground and tailing off, underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Roxy Doughnut visibly eased approaching the turn off the back straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have shin soreness on the right foreleg. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Ms. D. Knight, regarding Roxy Doughnut's racing manners approaching the turn off the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Roxy Doughnut was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. D. Knight pled guilty to the charge. Roxy Doughnut must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
