Stewards spoke to Ms. A. Langton regarding the racing manners of Newport Flyer approaching the home turn. After hearing submissions from Ms. A. Langton, viewing the available race footage, and acting on their own observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.  

Aston Yuki, lost ground from the turn into the home straight and subsequently tailed off, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have cramped and dehydration. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting in accordance with GAR 130, Aston Yuki was placed on a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 130 and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from Sylvan Lake - winner of the event. 

Aston Erin and Roman Blazer were quick to begin. 

Roman Blazer, underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Ms. A. Langton regarding Roman Blazer’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Roman Blazer was charged with marring. Ms. A. Langton pled guilty to the charge, Roman Blazer was suspended for 28 days at Sandown only and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127 and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Evie Jean was quick to begin. 

Cuban Cigar, contacted the running rail on the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left track leg injury and left back muscle soreness. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre–race sample was taken from Twiggy Stick.

Warm Beer, raced wide on the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right deltoid injury, a spike wound on the left hindleg and pannus in the left eye. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke Trainer Mr. D. Phillips regarding the racing manners of Warm Beer on the turn out of the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Phillips, viewing the available race footage, and acting on their own observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.

Stupify was quick to begin. 

Get A Job, performed below market expectations, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Blazer Edition was quick to begin. Inside Dart, Fayetteville and Stetsenko were slow to begin.

Stetsenko, checked turning off the back straight and lost ground thereafter, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock and right triangle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A post-race sample was taken from Lead The Way - winner of the event.

Elli's My Girl and Big Braveheart were quick to begin. Barooga Smoke, Lucy's VIlla and Masika were slow to begin.

A pre–race sample was taken from Petula.

Petula, Darnum Dancer and Loved By You were quick to begin. Smooth Cruiser was slow to begin.

Hone Your Skills, lost ground from the back straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 12. Hone Your Skills was found to have a thoraco-lumbar injury and a left monkey injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Golden Quest was quick to begin. Mepunga Legend and Plagiarise were slow to begin. 

Jimmy Maker and Smooth Talker were slow to begin.

Obsession Agogo, checked in the front straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury reported.
