Why Not Barney was slow to begin
Mr. Shenfield eased several times in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Mr. D Kerr declined the option to have the greyhound re–vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr. D Kerr, the trainer of Mr. Shenfield regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Mr. Shenfield was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Kerr pleaded guilty to the charge, Mr. Shenfield was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
