In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 22.1 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.6 degrees.  The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.  

Jaleesa Bale and Cool Militant collided on the first turn. Cool Militant and Flight Risk collided approaching the home turn checking Flight Risk which collided with Mr. Holyfield.

Sandy Camp Road and Jimmy collided soon after the start. Jimmy and Aston Lamont collided approaching the first turn and on the first turn checking Jimmy.

Holly Fever, Extinguish and Hokkaido collided approaching the first turn and on the first turn checking Holly Fever and Hokkaido Miss. Holly Fever and Hokkaido Miss collided entering the home straight.

Wonder Lomar, Banner Lomar and Come On Aileen collided on the first turn checking Banner Lomar. Banner Lomar and Avery Charm collided in the back straight. My Name's Nipper lost ground in the home straight.

My Name's Nipper underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Donald McDonald, the trainer of My Name's Nipper regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) My Name's Nipper was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. McDonald pleaded guilty to the charge, My Name's Nipper was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Fernandes was quick to begin. True Collinda and Fernandes collided on the first turn checking Fernandes. Dark Compass and Sarah's Shout collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Enemy Within and Our Watto collided on the first turn checking Our Watto. Enemy Within, All Inn Chester, Trendy Universe and Grace's Shout collided in the back straight severely checking Trendy Universe and causing Enemy Within to fall. Rinnin' Riot and Grace's Shout collided approaching the second turn. All Inn Chester and Grace's Shout collided entering the home straight.

Enemy Within underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hamstrings injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Kennel Attendant Mrs. Jane Hooke did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event.

Thundering Don – Late scratching at 17:10 30/12/21 when Mr. Jye Formosa reported the greyhound to have an injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Conroy, Our Fabio, Ching Ching, Subtle Art and Crackerjack Phil collided on the first turn checking Subtle Art, Ching Ching and Crackerjack Phil. Ching Ching and Crackerjack Phil collided approaching the second turn. Ten Dollar Slaps, Our Fabio and Conroy collided on the second turn. Our Fabio and Conroy collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Ching Ching raced wide in the home straight.

I'm Easy Boys, Rapid Reiko, Caroline, Irene's A Star, East Street, Taltarni Black, Mallee Swan and Fabriola Zad collided soon after the start checking Rapid Reiko, Irene's A Star, East Street, Taltarni Black and Mallee Swan. Rapid Reiko and Caroline collided on the second turn checking Rapid Reiko. Irene's A Star and Fabriola Zad collided in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Taltarni Black underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer's request and was found to have split webbing to the left fore paw. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Ms. Donna Knight was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound, La La Missouri pursuant to GAR 33.

Orson Ruby was slow to begin. McIvor Stretch and Wizardry Tricks collided on the first turn checking McIvor Stretch. Orson Ruby and Wizardry Tricks collided approaching the home turn.

An out of competition sample was taken from Island Chief on 21/12/21 pursuant to GAR 79A.
